Swoop Adventures are a growing travel company who specialise in managing tailored expeditions to Patagonia, the Arctic and Antarctica. Based in Bristol, they have 50 employees but were growing rapidly through a remote workforce, with employees based across the world. We supported Swoop by providing a hands-on dedicated, retained recruitment service that focused on building talent pipelines, improving time to hire, reducing recruitment costs as well as enabling them to recruit high potential candidates in a competitive market.

As a high growth business in a competitive talent space, Swoop experienced several challenges. They had difficulty developing a global team and they were lacking the organisational structure to allow them to scale at speed. Managers were stretched and lacked the time to give recruitment the time and dedicated focus it needed to help the business achieve its ambitious goals.

Due to the volume of recruitment required to meet the business’ ambition we provided a dedicated recruitment partner who personally managed all Swoop vacancies, either filling them directly through international search, job boards, UK head-hunting or engaging with appropriate, specialist recruitment partners. We also managed their social media channels to promote their employee brand.

Working in partnership with the senior team, we developed a holistic strategy for Swoop that focused on developing talent pipelines, engaging with a specialist audience and keeping in touch with potential candidates through creative, engaging means.

One of the key areas for supporting Swoop’s growth plans was having the right leaders, in the right place, doing the right roles that played to their strengths. We worked in partnership with their leadership team to ensure they had appropriate spans of control and the right senior level roles and that would drive high performance.

We were able to significantly reduce costs and time to hire with clear reporting lines where managers have the capacity and skills to make a difference. Allowing the business to scale at speed and reach their ambitious business goals.
